My heart diminishes the sea separating my longing from your glamour
your glamour from my longing
Your beauty from my groaning
My heart leaps over the mountains of vague languages
Unable to express the fire glowing in the lover’s heart
Languages unable to see light radiating from the lover’s soul
The lover is not toying with words
But the alphabets in lover’s heart are burning
I expel fear out of myself
And behind the lights of the high moon
I ascend… I ascend
Wrapped with the kiss
Being carried by the Mediterranean
Invading a heart
Crying ... Trembling
I ascend… I ascend
kisses Guard me
I’m guarded by kisses
Sent by a heart in the depths of the Mediterranean
that knows freedom is a provision
that knows
love is immortality
living without love is futile
So we agree
No to assassination
Yes to the rooster’s crowing
And the sparrow’s singing
No to the laws of very brutal repression and tyranny
And yes to the sands of the sea as we sleep on them
Waiting for the angels to come down from the heavens of the Lord
And a celebration is held for our two hearts

قلبى يختصر البحر الفاصل بين حنينى وبهائك
بين بهائك و حنينى
بين جمالك و أنينى
قلبى يقفز فوق جبال لغات مبهمة
لا تقدر أن تفصح عن نار تشتعل بقلب العاشق
لغات لا تقدر أن تبصر نورا يطلع من روح العاشق
لا يلهو العاشق بالكلمات
لكن حروفا فى قلب العاشق تشتعل
أطرد من نفسى الخوف
وخلف ضياء القمر العالى
أصعد ...أصعد
ملتحفا بالقبلة
إذ يحملها البحر المتوسط
تغزو قلبا
يبكى... يرتجف
أصعد ... أصعد
قبلات تحرسنى
تحرسنى قبلات
أرسلها قلب فى عمق البحر الأبيض
يدرك أن الحرية شرط
يدرك
أن الحب خلود
و العيش بلا حب عبث
نحن إذن متفقان
لا للقتل
نعم لصياح الديك
وزقزقة العصفورة
لا لقوانين الكبت والاستبداد الغاشم جدا
و نعم لرمال البحر حين ننام عليها
منتظرين ملائكة تنزل من فوق سموات الرب
فيقام لقلبينا الفرح
