many native speakers say i wish i were a kingothers say i wish i was a king what is the difference between them grammatical useall we know...

My dear,
firstly,in "wish"sentence , it's right
grammtically in the imaginary sentences & wishes "I" can take both ( was or were )as the if condtionals....it's 100% right grammtically..
